Pros: Françoise Hardy, Vanessa Paradis and Charlotte Gainsbourg are moving and their testimonies show a strong sensitivity / modesty, even if my feeling is probably biased by my strong appetite for these actresses / singers / models. And Brigitte Fontaine shines with her monologues as wacky as irreverent: a real delight!
Cons: the documentary is bluntly useless, without any real connecting thread but with 3 or 4 decades of delay, at least. Not to mention the pathetic Imany who pedantically teaches us that 180 million women from Western Europe would suffer from painful menstruation. Firstly, ... um ... who cares? Honestly, who buys a movie ticket to 'learn' that some women suffer from painful periods?!!? Secondly, a documentary is supposed to instruct the audience by disclosing acknowledged information, but thanks to Imany who obviously excels in mathematics and/or geography, we 'learn' that 200% of the menstruating women (i.e. not too young and not too old) suffer from painful menstruation. That's instructive! That's impressive!! That's awesome!!! In any movement such as ultra-feminist, « gilets jaunes » or whatever, there are always a few people interested in listening to themselves with an appalling blah-blah-blah and aligning arguments they do not seem to understand.
