As a lesbian couple is holding a baby shower, a straight-woman friend meets a 50-something bartender / drag artist who desperately wants a baby, but has failed both on adoption and surrogacy. She impulsively offers to be his surrogate. As the pregnancy progresses, the two parents' diverging ideas / fantasies of how the child will be raised start to conflict.
This is a good study of the pitfalls of surrogacy, where there is no signed-in-advance contract, or even a pre-negotiated agreement between friends. My quibble is whether someone over 50 really should be looking towards having a baby alone.

Milo (molly bernard) meets roger (pat breen) and agrees to be a surrogate for him. He's a single gay guy, looking for someone to carry his child. She got pregnant on the first try, but neglected to work out all the details. So her lawyer friend advises her to be careful, and meet with roger to figure it out. Milo is feisty, and pregnant, with all those hormones, so she's grouchy. And argumentative. Both roger and milo are trying to carry on their own lives, but it's challenging, with a baby on the way. Good film. I guess it could have happened this way, but i think most of us would have signed the papers before getting pregnant to carry a baby for someone else. It's complicated. Written and directed by morgan ingari. This seems to be someone's personal story. Probably many peoples' story.
If only the process to have a child with assistance, could actually be this easy.
Have been on both sides of the process, can tell you this was a fantasy.. Did not genuinely show the pitfalls,of all that surrogacy entails.
The dad to be- Became a jerk as,he got closer to his goal.
It seemed to happen after joining the dad group, what kind of support do they offer? Ugh!
Was she always, acting right? No! But He didn't need to be so cold,to someone needing support.
She became just an incubator with no care over her well-being,unless it was just about baby.- Arrangement or not,you need to care for both!
Shocked she signed the contract with all of its legalities, including over her own body.. In the reality showed her(genuine)intentions, more than his with their friendship.
If you been through trying to have a kid, helping someone.. This might not be a movie for you!

I did not like this movie as much as I thought I would. First of all, this movie has almost no likeable characters. They are all petty, selfish, and DON'T COMMUNICATE. No one tells another what they are feeling or attempt to talk like rational adults, especially the main woman and male leads between the surrogacy. I can understand both sides of their argument, but neither communicate or behave like rational adults who are in a consensual surrogacy. I was at least satisfied with the ending, but overall this story left me just feeling frustrated and angry.
Don't trust the rating here. There's clearly some low-key smear campaign at work (which is one of this platforms strengths, after all). This is a cleverly written film with great characters. The wit is acerbic and the story is strong. Definitely one of the better LGBTQ films I've seen recently.
The acting and technical aspects were top-notch, but the main character is so annoying as to be completely unsympathetic, so much so that the humor falls flat with a dull thud. Not only did I not laugh out loud, I didn't even break a half-hearted smile. If Milo were my Facebook friend, I would block her without hesitation.

Molly Bernard who is also a Producer of the film is the female lead as well. Milo.
For Milo, take into account her family history when the female lead explains it.
Take into account her relationship with her friends and competition with her best female friend. I see best friends having that level of competition many times.
The female lead is still trying to find her purpose and she finds one as being a surrogate.
It was done impulsively and the rest of the movie is a classic case many surrogates might find themselves in.
I did find it an enjoyable watch. The acting, music, cinematography and directing looked great from what I could tell.
