I got into the Ostwind universe through my daughter (surprise, surprise), expected not much and was nicely impressed of part one (story, acting of the main cast, setting, filming). Part two was entertaining, part three gets its charme out of the foreign location.
But part four was simply lame with throughout bad acting and timing. I have in mind that I'm not the target group. But even from a children's / girl's point of few this movie is the worst in the series.
One of the problem is the introduction of new characters. They appear quite suddenly and you have to wait for the explaination (who is this and why). Ok for an adult movie but not for children. My daughter (12 years old) kept on asking and lost interest quite soon.
If you still like slow motion shots of horses and the nice summervibe pictures of Gut Kaltenbach, then go for it. Even Hanna Binke as Mika returns for a few scenes (the rest of the movie you can see her sleeping).
2 stars for the basic story idea and the solid acting of Ari.
