The story takes place in Paris in 2016 right after the floods that almost have submerged the Alexandre III bridge.
A Mermaid in Paris is also a book written by Mathias Malzieu (2019) and a Dionysus music album (2020)
Reda Kateb and Clémence Poésy were originally cast in the main parts. The roles ultimately went to Nicolas Duvauchelle and Marilyn Lima.
