Black Excellence

Loved this 3 part doco on the history of Black Actors. Loved the depth of the interviews. Can't wait for 2020 onwards. I was not aware of the Samuel L Jackson incident in which also took shots at Rap Actors.

Really informative, great storytelling

I work in film but I never went to film school so any time there is a great piece of cinema history that's usually something I'm into. This popped up on Netflix and I sat down to watch an episode and ended up watching all 3 episodes. It's a great piece and it added a lot of depth to movies I have seen, and gave me a list of movies to go check out, knowing more of the story behind them.

Prolific Independent African-American Filmmaker Oscar Micheaux Sadly is Missing

Thanks for this interesting, insightful and thoughtful series. I was surprised, however, that there was no mention of the trailblazing, independent, African-American filmmaker Oscar Micheaux. He's worthy of significant attention if a follow up to "They've Gotta Have Us" is pursued.
