Why Tom Cruise Was Told To Stop Smiling During Stunts ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Tom Cruise, the king of DIY stunts, has a unique problem—he can’t stop smiling while doing things that would make most of us pass out. On The Graham Norton Show, Cruise dropped this gem: stunt coordinators had to tell him, multiple times, to wipe that grin off his face mid-action.
“I’ve been told a few times during shooting a stunt to stop smiling!” Cruise admitted. I guess adrenaline hits differently when you’re hanging off a plane.
Cruise doesn’t just star in action movies—he lives them. The guy is all in, whether it’s diving out of planes, speeding through wild car chases, or freefalling off a motorcycle. And while Ethan Hunt is supposed to be dead-serious in these moments, Cruise? He’s beaming like it’s his birthday.

Amazon Prime Video's latest hit series, "Cross" is very much in the lineage of shows like "Reacher" and "Jack Ryan. "Reacher" broke records when it hit Prime Video, immediately proving popular with its pulpy action driven by a true mountain of a man in Alan Ritchson, who finally gave fans a book-accurate Jack Reacher. Those novels, written by British author Lee Child, are immensely popular in their own right, which all but guaranteed that the streaming adaptation would — much like "Yellowstone" — become a hit with dads across the world.
There's not much to the "Reacher" formula beyond "Big man who's good at punching people goes around punching people." Of course, there are a few dad-centric accoutrements, such as Reacher being a former military policeman and a sort of tacit conservatism that undergirds the whole thing. But essentially, "Reacher" is like John Wick with a big boy in the lead. Similarly,...

Is Ryan Reynolds A Game Of Thrones Fan? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool, but he is a Game of Thrones superfan in his heart. He is obsessed—straight-up addicted to the show. “It’s no secret, I’m a Game of Thrones nut. I’m an addict. There’s nothing I won’t do to get my next fix,” he told The Irish Sun. Yeah, he’s that deep into the Thrones universe, ready to do whatever it takes to dive right into Westeros.
But here’s the kicker—Reynolds didn’t just want to be a viewer. Oh no, he wanted to be a part of the action. “Would I want a part? On one hand, I’m a fan, so I like my outside perspective into that world, but on the other, yeah, how ridiculously insane would that be?” he said. So, who did he think...

What Did Anne Hathaway Say About Christopher Nolan’s No-Chairs Rule On Set? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Christopher Nolan doesn’t do chairs on set, and Anne Hathaway explained why. The Interstellar star shared the inside scoop during a chat with Les Misérables buddy Hugh Jackman, and it’s pretty simple: if there’s a chair, people sit. And if they’re sitting, they’re not working. Classic Nolan move, right?
Hathaway, who worked with Nolan on The Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar, is all about his vibe. His films? Huge, ambitious, and always under budget and ahead of schedule. So yeah, there’s something to this no-chair rule. “I think he’s onto something with the chair thing,” she said. But it’s not just about chairs. Nolan’s whole filmmaking style is about being minimal yet massive simultaneously. It’s like the director knows exactly what he wants and doesn’t waste time.

For Prime Video, that's become the Dad Thriller. It’s the home of Dadcore. Think Lee Child’s Reacher, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, and Jack Carr’s The Terminal List — all serviceable thrillers adapted from the pages of airport fiction. The latest to join these ranks, James Patterson's Cross, is attempting something different from the usual Dadcore fare, and it's better off for it.

What to do with the character of Alex Cross has been a hard case for Hollywood to crack. Bestselling author James Patterson introduced the ace detective to the world in 1993 with “Along Came a Spider,” launching a rich world centered around the hero psychologist and investigator now comprising more than 30 books. That series has collectively sold more than 100 million copies, which is presumably why Hollywood keeps trying to get it right.
Alex Cross first showed up on the big screen back in 1997, with Morgan Freeman in “Kiss the Girls,” followed by “Along Came a Spider,” named for the very first novel, with Freeman again, in 2001. And then in 2012, Tyler Perry took over in “Alex Cross,” controversially replacing Idris Elba.
With Aldis Hodge, “Cross,” the latest adaptation from Amazon’s Prime Video, finally gets it right.

It’s not unusual for actors with big stature to get typecast into physically dominating roles, and similar has been the case for Domenick Lombardozzi throughout his career. Since hitting it big in the early 2000s, following his stint in the highly acclaimed The Wire, the actor has continued to star in projects that fed into his tough guy onscreen persona.

An action movie starring the woman who took down the Predator in Prey and the man mountain lead of Prime Video's Reacher, written by the dude responsible for John Wick, and directed by the stunt co-ordinator for the likes of Logan and Avatar: The Way Of Water may sound like some kind of nutty genre fever dream, but it's actually very real — and it could be the next big action franchise. Per Deadline's reporting, Yautja ass kicker Amber Midthunder and actual Jack Reacher Alan Ritchson are set to team up on Painter, an all-new action movie poured from the pen of Derek Kolstad and helmed by genre veteran Garrett Warren.
Due to set sales at the American Film Market next week, Painter — per the description provided to Deadline — is set to centre around an expertly trained young woman (Midthunder) who's forced to put her skills to use when her father (presumably Ritchson) is kidnapped.

Prime Video today released the official trailer and key art for The Sticky, a fast-paced, dark comedy series from Blumhouse Television, inspired by a real-life heist that made global headlines in 2012, which saw more than $18 million worth of maple syrup stolen from Quebec’s national reserves.
From showrunners Brian Donovan and Ed Herro, The Sticky combines moments of culture-clash hilarity, edge-of-the-seat excitement, and heartbreaking drama. All six episodes premiere on Good December 6 exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories around the world.
The Sticky follows Ruth Landry (three-time Emmy Award winner Margo Martindale), a tough, middle-aged maple syrup farmer who turns to crime when the bureaucratic authorities threaten to take away everything she loves.
She teams up with the hot-tempered Bostonian mobster (Chris Diamantopoulos) and a mild-mannered French-Canadian security guard (Guillaume Cyr) to carry out a multi-million-dollar heist on Quebec’s maple syrup surplus.

Amazon plans to expand advertising on Prime Video to Brazil, India, Japan, the Netherlands and New Zealand in 2025.
Executives announced the move Tuesday at the annual Amazon Ads “Unboxed” event in Austin, TX, which showcases new products and initiatives.
In January 2024, Prime Video introduced ads on series and film originals and library titles in Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, UK and the U.S. Subscribers looking to opt out of ads are able to do so by paying an extra $3 a month. The company followed the ad shift by convening its first upfront event for media buyers, during the main week of presentations in New York by legacy media giants as well as Netflix and YouTube.
Last month, sources confirmed to Deadline that Amazon exceeded its internal target of $1.8 billion in upfront ad commitments. Live sports, along with popular originals like Fallout and Reacher, have given the video outlet a significant boost.

Tom Cruise starred in numerous blockbuster films throughout his career. While he has delivered exceptional performances, the action star has notably done only two sequels outside of the Mission: Impossible franchise, Top Gun: Maverick and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.

While Maverick turned out to be a massive hit, renewing the action film series with the 2022 sequel, the same could not be said about the latter. After Christopher McQuarrie’s 2012 film, Edward Zwick took over the sequel, which ultimately fell short of expectations.
The filmmaker later reflected on the movie’s failure in his book, admitting that his attempt to put a personal spin on the story ultimately led to the downfall of the franchise.

Amazon has renewed the action-thriller for a fourth season well ahead of the Reacher Season 3 premiere!

It’s not surprising as the series previously scored an early renewal ahead of its hit second season as well, when despite our indifference, Reacher Season 1 did so well.
It speaks to Amazon’s faith in the adaptation and Lee Child’s best-selling series.

Last week Amazon Prime Video flexed its international muscle with a host of events around Europe, including a Prime Video Presents Trailblazers event celebrating women on and off screen – which included appearances from Octavia Spencer, Priyanka Chopra Jones and Amy Pascal – followed by the “Citadel: Diana” premiere in Italy.
During the whirlwind European tour, two of Amazon’s most senior female execs — Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios, and Kelly Day, VP of international for Prime Video – sat down with Variety to talk about celebrating women, how the industry has changed over the past five years, what the international strategy is going forward, and what’s in store for some of their biggest franchises, including “Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” and “Tomb Raider.”

Amazon and Apple, two Silicon Valley behemoths, are teaming up more closely in the streaming arena.
Later this month, Apple TV+ will be available via Prime Video in the U.S. as an add-on subscription for $9.99 per month, Amazon announced Wednesday. That’s the same price Apple charges for the stand-alone streaming service.
Apple TV+ joins Prime Video’s collection of more than 100 add-on subscription options in the U.S., which include Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max, Paramount Global’s Paramount+, Sony’s Crunchyroll and Amazon-owned MGM+.
The deal to bring Apple TV+ into Prime Video is part of Amazon’s strategy to aggregate as many entertainment options as it can for customers — available on one bill, in one app.
“Prime Video is a first-stop entertainment destination offering a wide selection of premium programming,” Mike Hopkins, SVP and Head of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, said in announcing the pact.

Another season of “Reacher” is within reach. On Wednesday, Prime Video announced an early Season 4 renewal for the hit action series, which is currently in production on Season 3. It’s a big month for news in the Reacherverse, as last week Prime Video also announced a series order for a spinoff focused on Frances Neagley, the fan-favorite private investigator character played by Maria Sten.
“Reacher” Season 3 is slated to premiere in 2025. It will be based on author Lee Child’s seventh Jack Reacher novel, “Persuader.” In the season, Reacher (Alan Ritchson) must go undercover to rescue an informant who is being held by an old nemesis of Reacher’s. The announced cast includes Sten, Anthony Michael Hall, Sonya Cassidy, Brian Tee, Johnny Berchtold, Robert Montesinos, Daniel David Stewart, and Olivier Richters. Prime Video has not announced what book will be adapted for Season 4, or when the season will go into production.

It’s great news for fans of Reacher as we have a hint not only when Season 3 is coming but also news on a possible Season 4! Find out more about the Prime Video hit!
For years, fans have loved the Lee Child novels of Jack Reacher. The best-selling books focus on Reacher, a former Army investigator whose bulky frame hides a mind that could match Sherlock Holmes. Reacher roams the country, helping those in need and often involved in some criminal conspiracies.
The books were adapted for a 2012 movie, but fans weren’t happy about the casting of Tom Cruise as Reacher as he didn’t match the powerhouse of the novels and lacked the same energy. A 2016 sequel followed but that seemed the end of the series.
In 2022, Prime Video brought about the Reacher series with Alan Ritchson in the title role and more fitting the book version of Reacher.

Amid a TV landscape where shows seem to be cancelled almost as soon as they've arrived on our streaming service of choice (more on that here), a season renewal feels like real cause for celebration. But after a particularly naff few weeks in which we've seen The Acolyte, Kaos, and — as of about an hour ago — Max's adult toon Velma series get the chop, it's with great pleasure that we can share the news Prime Video's hugely popular action thriller series Reacher has landed a Season 4 renewal before its third series has even landed.
Since Reacher's arrival on Prime Video back in 2022, fans have been enthralled by the brawn and brains (and even more brawn!) of Alan Ritchson's police investigator Jack Reacher as the ex-military man has tackled complex conspiracies, dangerous drug operations, and the challenge of fitting those rippling biceps into all manner of shirts, jackets, and other more mortal-suited attire.

It’s no secret that Matt Reeves’ The Batman was a tremendous success. Since it introduced a new version of the Dark Knight and exists in a different universe from the former Dceu, many fans speculated that this series wouldn’t connect to James Gunn’s upcoming Dcu either.
While Reeves continues to develop his own narrative, the Dcu revamp has prompted some shifts that could impact the broader landscape.

Reacher has been renewed for a fourth season at Prime Video, even though Season 3 won’t debut until next year.
The news comes a week after the streamer also revealed it had given a series order to a Reacher spinoff starring Maria Sten, reprising her fan-favorite character from the mothership, Frances Neagley.
An early Season 4 renewal is certainly a vote of confidence from Prime Video, which is to be expected considering that the series has become a hit. The second season was Amazon’s most-viewed 2023 release. Season 2 debuted on December 15 and, within three days, those episodes surpassed the Season 1 three-day audience by 50%.

The third season of Reacher isn’t set to premiere until next year, but Prime Video is already looking beyond it.
The Amazon-owned streamer has renewed Reacher for a fourth season. The pickup comes months ahead of season three’s debut, which is set for sometime in 2025. (Season three was also announced ahead of the season two premiere).
That Prime Video would want to keep Reacher going is no surprise: The show based on Lee Child’s novels about freelance problem-solver Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) is one of the biggest on the platform. Season two, which premiered in December 2023, was the most viewed release of that year on Prime Video. A spinoff series focusing on Maria Sten’s character, Frances Neagley, is also on the way.
