Love Sarah (2020) was among one of the earliest new releases to play in UK cinemas as they re-opened after the COVID-19 outbreak.

Sonja Schroeder was the mother of the films director Eliza Schroeder. During development, director/co-writer Schroeder sadly lost her own mother, who the film is dedicated to. "It became very important for me to deal with grief in an emotional way, but at the same time also to give people hope," she said.

Love Sarah (2020) is the feature-film directorial debut of director/co-writer Eliza Schroeder. Previously, she had directed short films and a TV movie.
Love Sarah (2020)'s co-writer Jake Brunger appears in a cameo as "Young Intern." This is first IMDb writing credit. He is only previous credit consists of a casting assistant for the UK film Fisherman's Friends (2019).
