The wooden dog featured in the short was named Papyrus by actress Coralina Cataldi-Tassoni, which she got in the USA before flying to Italy to shoot A MOVING READ. After filming she flew back to the USA with a real stray dog she and director, Mariano Baino rescued and adopted. His name is Dreamer.
