Spider-Ham battles Doctor Crawdaddy as he pursues his food. The biggest question is what's in the hot dog. It's a sarcastic pun-filled Looney Tunes style cartoon. It's fun until it deteriorates into chaos. I can never unhear John Mulaney as Spider-Ham.

'Caught In A Ham (2019)' is clearly inspired by golden era animation, particularly the 'Looney Tunes' shorts. Its humour - and, to an extent, plot - come from either its sight-gags or its puns, both of which are fired fast and loose in a 'see what sticks' sort of way. Luckily, most of it sticks, especially when it comes to the visuals. The piece is vivid, energetic and enjoyable. It gets a little odd in its final movement, breaking the fourth wall in some immersion-reducing ways, but ultimately sticks the landing. It's a pretty fun time. 6/10.

Peter(Mulaney, actually sounding like he belongs in this sort of thing) is swinging through the city, eating a hot dog(just... try not to think about it), when he's grabbed by a villain, and threatened with a laser...
This is featured on the DVD for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. It's basically a Looney Tunes cartoon starring Spider-Ham, which makes perfect sense, considering the titular character here. You'll recognise many traits of those, if you're familiar with them. Lots of in-jokes, puns, meta stuff, etc. They even imitate the simple style of animation from those. It's so short, and moves so fast, always changing exactly what's going on, that you don't have time to get frustrated with the visual quality. That was my experience, anyway. The voice acting is quite good. I'd be happy to watch something like this that was substantially longer.
Other than the joke about the contents of the food Porker eats, there is nothing objectionable in this. The violence is silly, not upsetting. I recommend this to any fan of the movie itself. 7/10.

Spider-Ham was one of the multiverse version of Spider-Man who appeared in the main film, and I found this short film on YouTube. Unfortunately where the film captured the imagination by its creativity, control of tone, and swiftness, Caught in a Ham seems half-done and a bit obvious. The inspirations of the short are clear, and the character is not taken beyond the one-liners he has in the filme - one-liners that worked as such, but when they are the focus of the film they do not make the same impact. The short is in the style of Looney Tunes and modern cartoons, but it is always the copy, and doesn't manage to use them as reference points.
Jokes are mostly obvious, and the disconnected character of Spider-Ham is not as funny in context of his universe. A shame then, because the main film was so good and the character was a fun one, but this is uninspired stuff.

This animated short, released as part of the DVD release of "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" (2018), is a fun little treat that definitely manages to stage the absurd and cabaret Spider-Ham character better, more true to the original and with more stylistic confidence than the overly-praised film, for instance, whose name can be found on the DVD cover. For a four-minute short, the story is adequate, if not loaded with new ideas. By now, viewers know enough about breaking the fourth wall, and the wacky nature of what is shown can be found in almost every mediocre cartoon by now; but also in a lot of good ones. "Spider-Ham: Caught in a Ham" is at the lower end of the good cartoons with this gimmick. The voice acting, already known from the feature film to which this cartoon is a tie-in, is solid, though not outstanding. All in all, 4 minutes that you can definitely have a look at once. Time is not wasted with this one.

An amusing four-minute short, which serves as a prequel to 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse'.
John Mulaney returns to voice the titular character, to good effect - there are a couple of nice gags in there. Animation is sweet, too. It's obviously not necessary, but 'Spider-Ham: Caught in a Ham' is good nevertheless.

In this weird drug trip, Spider-Pig (played by comedian John Mulaney) beats up baddies in a self-aware, Looney Tunes-esque style. Nothing much else to say.

"Caught in a Ham" is a special feature included with the DVDs for "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse". The film is only 4 minutes long but is well worth seeing. It's because for the non-comicbook fan watching "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" they've never been exposed to Peter Porker, also known as Spider-Ham. He's only in the film a bit here and there...and the short allows you to see the sort of world this Looney Tunes-like character lives in and where he's a hero. Overall, funny, well made and a must see if you get the DVD for the feature film.

I feel like Spider-Ham Caught in a Ham is a good spin on Looney Toons. I find it as a good addition to Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse. It focuses on Spider-Ham in his universe right before he got brought into Miles's universe (Earth 1610). It is meant to be funny and it delivered. I feel like there should be a show about Spider-Ham. He's so like a Looney Tunes character and should have a show like Looney Tunes. The show can show his origin more in detail. That's at least my opinion and can give an idea to the producers of the Spider-Man related content at Sony if they're reading this. I feel like this Short's alright and hope there will be more like this to come out of the Spider-Verse franchise.
What did I just watch? This short film is so terrible. I love Spiderman. I really do. But some spiderman animations are really bad. This one is the worst among I've seen so far. What makes this one so bad? Here goes the list.
- The animation is terrible. Because of great animation skill, I feel dizzy while watching this one.
- The story is also terrible. I don't even know what this is all about.
- The voice acting skills are bad.

Don't understand why so low it does relay on knowing about animation and how it's made but it's just so much fun

This felt more like theft than an homage to Looney Tunes. There was no coherent plot, it was just a constant stream of jokes. Yet ever joke was obviously lifted from a golden age era cartoon, with some Animaniacs references as well. The Animaniacs references were the large kiss, acting like a psychiatrist, the wacky pacing (though Animaniacs largely borrowed elements from class Warner Brothers cartoons, they did them in a new fresh style with coherent plots.]
I was personally offended that they lifted Duck Amok, my favorite Looney Tunes episode, in an unoriginal and unfunny fashion.
The villain was less than 1 dimensional. Probably the filmmakers couldn't get the rights to an actual Spider-Man or Spider-Ham villain.

Spider-man into the Spider-verse is one of the best superhero films ever, a brilliant animated feature movie, and the best Spider-man movie so far. One of the most charismatic and curious characters presented there was Spider-ham. Therefore, I am very pleased to watch this excellent and very short spin-off. Spider-ham: Caught in a Ham is very amusing and smart. It has that charming vintge look of Looney Tunes (together with a Dexter Lab and a Popeye-like food can) but also plays with contemporary design. The story is a mashup of 60's Batman & Robin, Bugs Bunny (with a Porky Pig shape) and Spider-man into the Spider-verse multidimensional issues. A touch of dark humor makes it clear that it aims adults, although children may love it too. Let me grab a hot dog.
