Cinema, social political issues and controversies

Interesting documentary about a homeless occupation in former (in the 70's! Now abandoned) luxury movie theater Cine Marrocos. The testimonies of the people there are amazing: there are refugees (most of them from Africa, victims of Boku Haram and other political oppressions) and Brazilians who simply had bad luck. The idea and outcome of reproducing famous 50's cinema scenes with the homeless as actors was simply great and moving (some of them also showed impressive acting or singing skills). The fact that this particular homeless social movement (MSTS, Homeless Movements of São Paulo) was controversial has been dealt seriously in the documentary, reproducing TV news and asking about the polemic policy of taxing the homeless families and the accusations of being related to narcotics traffic, both of which were eventually confirmed. However, also opening the screen for more famous, important and serious Homeless Workers Movement (MTST, which acronym is too much similar) would have avoided confusion and the risk of leading to a bad conclusion according the conservative conventional wisdom that the homeless people are rogues. During the film, the local leader of that controversial MSTS said that he supported a right wing party (which is known to oppose homeless movements), what was suspicious... Indeed, by seeing the end of the film more questions may be raised.
