I'll start with the things I enjoyed.
I liked the animation.
The environment created was something not often done and that was refreshing, also the ability to create something from nothing reminded me of FMA which was nice.
Soooo now the things that I believe let this anime down.
Story....or lack off. Personally not a big fan of episodic stories and prefer something that is actually going somewhere. Yes there were flashbacks and plenty of them (ugh) but they were often just conveying the relationship between the characters, with a small amount explaining certain circumstances of how they got to where they are.
There was also an issue with pauses, something new to me and hope I don't experience it again. Couple of characters would be having a conversation and then when one asks a question there's this sudden long pause. It's like someone paused the show and god is it irritating, that being said much of the dialogue I found was drivel.
Also there doesn't seem to be much on character development. You get the many flashbacks of how they came to where they are but going forward or some sort of goal just seems to be lacking. Heck I'm pretty sure there wasn't an objective unless I missed it.
So yeah, the premise get a pass but the lack of story and actual character development kill it, which is a shame because it looked promising.
Overall I would recommend it to people I hate.
P.S. Now that I think about it, this anime kinda felt like watching fillers...

The premise of this is good: a new continent that suddenly rises out of the ocean. Characters that can create whatever they can imagine. And... that's it.
The costuming of the main character is semi-militaristic goofy-looking. Zero's outfit is cute enough, if cliche. The individual stories are hit and miss, some of them decent, the majority kinda cow flops. The last three episodes are (spoiler excluded) yawners. They seriously could have done so much more with this series, but didn't.
Then we have the unanswered questions. Where did the continent come from? Where did all the weird life forms suddenly come from? A prominent character gets stabbed in the leg and severely sliced clear across the back... and walks around like nothing happened? And the "boss fight(s)" were a real snore.
The number of 10-star ratings on this are questionable. People involved with the production... or people with no discerning taste in anime? The low-star ratings may be too low, but they properly counteract the ludicrous praise posts. Best anime of the year? Not even close. This is a mediocre offering without a consistent story line, and too many disjointed, no-ending meaningless episodes. By the 12th episode I was way past ready for it to be done and over... but there was one more lame episode to go.
If you haven't seen it yet, you've been warned. It has an interesting premise and two or three decent mini-stories... and that's about all.

I loved the beginning. Episode 5 was awkward tho. And the last 2 episodes were predictible and nothing sepcial.
The rest was beautiful and creative. I hope that season 2 will explain the background story of this story.

It's a good show with very soothing story, but why it's age rating is 16+ in Netflix?
This show doesn't have any explicit scenes and story is so childish, it should be rated 7+ at max. I don't know at what basis they age rate this show, but if you show this show to teenager or adult, he is bound to give low rating, cause story is just not meant for yhem.

I don't know how anyone who has seen animes like Hunter x Hunter, death note, joj, samurai x etc say that this could be the best anime when it's the complete opposite. The premise seemed compelling which is why I started watching the show but it was a waste if time. Where's the story? Dry dry dry. Even the explanation about his cat pins was an episode that didn't give his character any depth. I don't get why anyone would be excited to watch this show. By far the worst anime I've ever seen

Well I watched the first episode and it looked cool he looked strong and promising and then theirs just a total drops of apparently he becomes weaker to make it look like he puts up a fight but not only that their is no story no build up for the character at all after episode 1 this is a filler and not a good filler either this is one of the worst animes I've waisted my time watching.the base of it is good but omg please don't make an anime that brings a villain in the 12th episode and defeats him in 1 episode and then make the main problem of the characters be poor which also make no sense cause they actually get a descent amount of money please for the love of god just watch the first episode and then leave it at that

I am a huge fan of the show , I just feel like they held back a lot. I would of preferred it to be more gory... they just held back on so many great opportunities.
I love the sense of adventure and danger. I hope there is more episodes to come though, perhaps they can redeem their self if they get another season. It was good enough for.

A continent called Magmell suddenly emerged from the sea and changed the world. A new age of adventure-filled exploration begins: explorers and explorers from all over flock to the island in search of unknown life forms and resources, encountering one disaster after another along the way. A mysterious group of young men earn their living on this continent as supporters for the researchers and experience one or the other adventure in the process...
"Ultramarine Magmell" has the problem, which other comments here also address:
It could have been something, but unfortunately it wasn't.
The individual stories are mostly boring, the characters are flat and since the animations aren't good either, there isn't even anything for the eye.

Long story short, i would recommend to watch it.
Unfortunately the story is not very consistent and there are some episode which are boring.
The first episode of this anime is great.
Some humor, some action and a lot of creepy stuff with twists... Later some episodes miss some of this elements.
The animations are quite nice and In my option its one of Netflix better animes releases recently.

This anime is it like the basic cut and dry anime that we used to. I know that will turn a lot of people away. This anime is a silly and fun anime, but that Does it mean it shouldn't be taken seriously. There's definitely drama and heartwarming parts that were definitely well thought out to bring us to know the characters. And there's definitely good lessons to be learned from this anime too. I know they think somethings overboard to kind of add a bit of fun and some people are going to turn there noses away because of it. But this anime definitely stands for it self. I would say watch this anime for sure it's great.
