In the movie the horse wore saddle cloth #3 in all his races, which would be a very rare occurrence for a racehorse. He actually wore #11 in the Welsh Grand National.
At 54 minutes Janet is putting newspaper cuttings on the wall of the bar where she works. One mentions Dream Alliance finishing third at Ffos Las.....Ffos Las wasn't built until 2009, well after Dream Alliance's career started.
The soundtrack credits include "MULDER AND SKULLY" by Catatonia. The track is, in fact, "MULDER AND SCULLY" (with a "C"), after characters Fox Mulder and Dana Scully of the X-Files TV series.
