I had the opportunity to see the short for this film in November of 2019. The story line seemed like a good one so I had hopes.
The writing is ok, not great, just ok. The acting on all accounts is horrible. The main character, the older Michael, could not even say Chincoteague correctly. That the producers allowed that to happen, puzzles me.
There was not one noteworthy performance by any of the cast members with the exception of the ponies
The script seems very stilted and fails to flow. Add to that the lack of acting ability amongst the cast, and it falls short.
I have to mention that some of the scenery was exquisite as this island rarely produces an unremarkable sunset or sunrise.
I think this production could be called a missed opportunity. With better writing and higher quality acting, it had the potential to be a guaranteed tear jerker.
