Working in a small-town, a librarian comes into contact with the diary of a bullied teen who killed himself from years ago, and when the residents start to mysteriously die in strange accidents she realizes a killer scarecrow has awakened for revenge forcing her to stop its rampage.
Overall, this one wasn't that bad of an indie film. Among the better qualities found here is the fact that there's an intriguing and enjoyable world built up here in this small-town setting. Playing up the idea of the locals with their own tortured past and the secrets coming to light through inconspicuous means, the idea that the prominent people in the town were responsible for his death and have covered it up causing all the chaos in modern-times works rather well. It gives a rather old-school feel of the sins of the past returning once again which is a fantastic ploy to take here with the film providing the necessary backstory to feature a solid reasoning to get things started. The fact that most of the stalking scenes are quite stylish and enjoyable, with the scene oftentimes featuring bright, garish lighting to hide the creature coming for them allows for this to generate some solid suspense at times with the backstory offering a fine rationale for everything. These here are what hold the film up overall. That said, there are some issues with the film. The main problem is that the film tends to spend too long on useless scenes that go nowhere and don't further the plot much, from the generous donator conversing with the town-drunk about the painful memories of her past when she clearly doesn't want to or a phone-call between the sister and her agent over her work which seem rather pointless in what they're trying to accomplish, especially in a film as short as this one where its crucial not to waste time. As well, other times include scenes of the woman taking out the belongings from her mother's house while on the phone complaining about having to do it or a reminiscing conversation about the old days just serves to eat up time without doing anything. That all ends up meaning that the killer scarecrow doesn't even get involved until the film's nearly halfway through, which for a slasher film isn't all that impressive or enjoyable. That leads to the other issue, which is the somewhat underwhelming slasher scenes when they do occur. Not only is the film's tendency to do quick, shock moment-style scenes of the scarecrow appearing behind people to kill them off really unrewarding by depriving the film of numerous chances at adding to the suspense factor, but the shortness also allows for several other issues to spring up. The fact that they're mostly bloodless and don't provide any real kind of variety in the kills really does this a huge disservice, and that they're mostly off-screen as well is a wholly underwhelming take on their slashing scene. On top of that, the clumsy shuffling and staggering walk that occurs when the victim tries to flee is more of a comical intonation than anything, somewhat ruining several of these scenes. While it's not in the slightest bit detrimental, there are enough flaws to lower this one somewhat.
Rated Unrated/R: Violence and Language.

Yes, Tell me why because I just don't get it. What a waste of a disk pressing, the plastic case and printing a cover and slipcase. What channel are films like this made for? Certainly not the theatre. I never really understood taking the time to make a "Straight to the dollar bin" film. Not a drop of blood, not a single onscreen kill, no profanity, no nudity, not even an Aww Shucks. As a gay guy, let me say up front, having some Gay backstory has zero to do with my opinion when the film is this bad.
The barebones story would make a good horror flick, yet I should have known at 72 minutes (Which would have already gotten several points knocked off for laziness, as I do with anything under 90 mins) that this was going to be awful. My question remains sincere, I mean why bother taking the time and effort on every level to "Create" something like this. For who? Certainly not horror fans. If I had paid more than 1.95 for it I'd be furious.
It's one of the rare (I have near 3000 Blus, 4ks and DVDs in my collection now) that I reject fully, and will not allow in my collection, not cataloged, but set over there in the giveaway to neighbors pile. It's that empty and bad, on every level.

With friends and their families in the little indiana village. the story is durable enough, but the plothopping and the premeditated way of avoiding budget slaying parts of the story like involving police and fbi and using the cheapest way of communicating by telephone is like a menace like dennis. the acting is beyond hope.
so when the bluegreen light is on the reapercrow is on the hunt, no blood or gore, just a heap of straws is found at the crime scene. so dont bother watching thuis is the message from the grumpy old man

This move is quite bad. It is amazing how films like this get released. How is it possibile that many people are involved in the process and no one said "this needs alot of changes"
You ever channel surf and come across a soap opra? Yeah, drags on slow, no much going on, just another dsy in their life. Well thats this movie.
Some guy gets killed, many years later an ultra cheesy scarecrow starts to kill people. Ok, whatever. Scarecrow looks pathetic, most actors are most likely family members of the people making the movie. Way too much time spent on Zoe, the loser shut in introvert, artist wanna be. What an anoying character. And for what? Shut in nerd who hears voices. Oh but comes alive in the last 10 minutes of the film. Way too much time spent on a totally irrelevant character.
Absolutely no likeable characters, rather odd looking actors, not just average, odd. No kill scenes ( which is ok) and just bad set design.
Rarely do i see a movie this bad. I can deal with low budget, but this is most likely a $10,000 movie, if that. A sudden ending thats ridiculous.
This is just another kid dies, years pass, killer taking out his friends, oh i wonder why movie.
Stolen ideas, just done worse then most.
In the end i feel sorry for the people who made this. They arent good at what they do.

How does lame films like this even get released. Didn't the producer tell the creators how incredible boring it was. I was visiting my parents and put this on at their place, my father fell asleep. 75% of the film is just people standing around talking. All the murders are done off screen, the scarecrow just walks up to people then it cuts to a new scene.
