Minimalist in a bad way, this short-short film has a concept, but its realization amounts to almost nothing. We have images in live action, a sort of sci-fi story narrated, and no engagement with the viewer whatsoever. It's as if film students, in this case the credited director and his writer, were attempting a Brechtian exercise in distancing.
Give me a good attempt at old-fashioned storytelling/acting and playing upon a viewer's emotions instead anytime.
It was shown as "audience selection" on NY's PBS Reel 13 series as the filler following the Saturday night pair of "Classic" and so-called "Indie" features.
