Based on a famous comedy act called "Mummingbirds" in which Charles Chaplin starred when he was a player with The Karno Company in England.
The film was restored in 2014 through the Chaplin Essanay Project thanks to the financial support of The George Lucas Family Foundation, The Film Foundation and The Material World Charitable Foundation.
Restoration work was carried out at Lobster Films laboratory in 2014. Scanned at L'Immagine Ritrovata laboratory.
A Night in the Show (1915) has been restored by Fondazione Cinateca di Bologna and Lobster Films in collaboration with Film Preservation Associates, from a polyester fine grain preserved at The Museum of Modern Art.
Some fragments were added from a di-acetate fine grain and a nitrate print preserved at the Cinémathèque française.
Intertitles have been reconstructed from re-release titles of 1920's found in both 35mm and Kodascope 16mm original elements.
