The London Film Company virtually took over the Island for a fortnight, hiring the complete railway system to move cast, technicians and extras around the various locations. There were 110 exterior shots, something that had never been attempted before.

Filming n the Isle of Man had to be hurried through as Henry Ainley had to join the Army.

This film is known in Denmark as: "Manboen" in two separate parts: "Legekammeraterne" and "Hjemkomsten".
