Auf einsamer Insel

Dutch fishermen Fred Sauer and Joseph Delmont both love Mia Cordes. So one day, when they are out fishing, Sauer destroys their boat, and abandons Delmont. After hiding out for a while, Sauer returns with a tale of shipwreck, and marries Miss Cordes. But Delmont hasn't drowned, nor his dog. They have made it to a deserted island. Eventually they are picked up by a foreign ship, and after years, they return home. There they discover that Sauer has turned into a drunk -- since Delmont both wrote and directed this movie, that's the least he could do. Eventually Sauer goes fishing while drunk, and somehow sets his boat on fire.

Happy ending!

I don't think much of the story, but it is nice looking at all of the characters, who seem to wear their holiday finery at all times. As for the acting, well, I like the dog.
