After days in the desert searching for water, Hugh and the Stonehills come upon an oasis with a babbling brook flowing downhill over large rocks. Oases' water sources are from underground aquifers or springs; the water does not flow downhill.
At the beginning, Hugh Rand tells Lady Diana Stonehill that she is the first woman he has dined with in three years. However, at the end, she is rekitted in a well-fitted, fashionable outfit. This, however, should not be considered a Goof, as the real Lord and Lady Stonehill were present at the end, and it's plausible that the real Lady Stonehill provided the imposter Lady Stonehill with one of her outfits, as the two women were the same size.
Many of the trees in the oasis such as a prominent oak tree are very clearly not native to South Africa.
After Lord Stonehill is travelling on his own, he comes across a stream and takes a drink using his cupped hands. He "speaks" to his canteen saying, "I can't lose you now - my precious jewels!" However, logically, he would pour out the "diamonds" and carry them in his pocket (or make a pouch out of his clothing) and fill the canteen with water.
