According to an article in the December, 1923, issue of American Cinematographer, this film used motorized cameras extensively. They were utilized mostly for the aerial sequences, which were shot using three Curtiss airplanes. The actors were in the planes and operated the cameras themselves, via a specially-installed switch, in a manner similar to the mechanized cameras later used for
Wings (1927). The actors also held large, specially-printed charts in their laps to help guide them through the scenes they were shooting.
