Goofs

The police broadcast the license number of Dolan's car in which Woods and Goldie are fleeing (1U-42-91), but it's not the same as the actual license plate of their Lincoln which is visible in several shots (4B72-47). When the car is wrecked, it has changed from a Lincoln to a Ford and now bears the same license number as the one originally broadcast.

When Jimmy Dolan is hopping freight trains, one of the stops is Pleasant Valley; the sign says it's 32 miles to Salt Lake City. It's actually over 150 miles between the two locations.

In the chase with Woods and Goldie, one of the police motorcycles has three lights at the beginning, but only two during and after the pursuit.

Actually, it is seen that just as the cops are about to start their pursuit, both motorcycles have two lights; the third round object (on the officers' left) on the motorcycles is the siren.

When Phlaxer tells Inspector Ennis the body in the car isn't Jimmy Dolan, one reason he gives is that Dolan's wrist size was different and the watch band on the body was fastened in a different hole. The newspaper said the body was "reduced to ashes in the flames". A fire that hot would also destroy a leather watch band.

As "Jack" (Jimmy Dolan) enters the ring, Auntie shouts, "I'm here, Jack. I'm here, and I'm with you." Dolan replies, "Hi, Auntie." Auntie then says, "Never mind how I am; how are you?" as if Dolan had said "How are you?" instead of "Hi".

After Jimmy Dolan reads about "his death" in the newspaper, he goes to the telephone and looks up a number in the phone directory. In the closeup, as he runs his finger down the listings, an alphabetical error is seen. The first listing is "Malvestuto", and it is followed by four "Malverne" listings that should preceded Malvestuto.
