The Casino Theatre on East 86th Street in New York City's German neighborhood, Yorkville, opened its doors with the American premiere of "Gold" and would become the flagship venue for the release of Nazi produced as well as Austrian films during the mid to late 1930s in the United States.
Footage from ''Gold'' was used in The Magnetic Monster (1953) as well as used for the exploding spaceship in The Probe (1965).
This film - referred to as a 'pale imitation of Metropolis (1927) - in which this film's star, Brigitte Helm was in -is the only 'sci-fi' film made whilst UFA was under the Third Reich's control. Ms Helm would leave UFA and the film business, in 1935 due to her disgust with the Nazi regime, and their control of German cinema
