The world of Game of Thrones is a dangerous place, an epic fantasy realm where the trappings of the genre are stripped down to the blah blah blah…okay, that's enough to get this recap past the point where Facebook and Twitter links will spoil it for people. Now we can get to the important thing, which is Holy Shit The Mountain Crushed The Red Viper's Head Like An Overripe Nectarine!!!

"You cannot give up on the gravy." So declares Hot Pie, former running buddy of Arya Stark and budding Great Chef of Westeros, to an unappreciative Brienne of Tarth and Podrick Payne. All they signed up for was a square meal and a place to spend the night on their quest for Sansa Stark. Instead, they get a monologue from a refugee from Flea Bottom who can't stop talking about what makes for a good pie. Eventually, the kid gives them information they find a bit more useful: Arya's alive...

Gamers have been singing the praises of the Gears of War series since the first epic installment broke out to major acclaim. That first entry featured a tough, muscular score by the talented Kevin Riepl (Aliens: Colonial Marines) which helped set the gritty, ultra-violent tone of the series and remains one of my personal favorite game scores. Since then, the following two Gow editions went for a more sweeping, grandiose landscape, accompanied by uplifting themes by another celebrated composer, Steve Jablonsky – whose primary credits began in feature films (including the 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake and its prequel), and whose work in those games took on an appropriately cinematic quality. Jablonsky is joined by Jacob Shea (a frequent collaborator with Hans Zimmer, including The Dark Knight) to accompany the latest chapter in the hit saga, which fuses the heavy, adrenaline-pumping elements of part 1 with the broader canvas of 2 and 3. Much like...

The beginning of the endings has come on, with many shows having their season finales tonight and many more coming in the next few weeks. Some will hang on into June, but not many, and then we will face summer which does have a couple interesting prospects (I'm intrigued by "Wilfred" and curious if not hopeful about "Franklin and Bash") but mostly a series of shows that weren't worth putting in direct competition with shows who have a solid audience. So prepare now, load up your Netflix lists or shop for DVDs, maybe find a hobby or two to take you out of the house a couple evenings out of the week, or just resolve to sit around and pout. Up to you. Here's your Monday night TV:
8:00pm: "90210" on The CW. Third season finale.
"Antiques Roadshow" on PBS
"Chuck" on NBC. Fourth season finale. Next season will be the final season which is,...

Jonathan Williams of Fires at Midnight Films dropped us a line today to let us know that a teaser trailer, some stills, and two clips from his upcoming found footage film The Burningmoore Incident starring Geoff Tate of Queensryche are now available, and of course we have them right here for your viewing pleasure!
Synopsis:
On the night of December 22, 2005, the screams of a child sounded out over the line of a New York 911 operator. Not knowing if the call was real or a prank, officers were dispatched to the residence on Long Island, New York, where the call originated from. Upon arrival police made a gruesome discovery… Anne Parrish and her three sons brutally murdered. Husband and father James Parrish was presumably not at home at the time.
Over the next few days several unsuccessful attempts were made to locate Mr. Parrish for questioning, and he was declared missing.

So... unlike the Hulk, y'all apparently like me when I'm angry. I'd like to thank everyone for the overwhelmingly positive response to my little rant and offer my apologies to Canadians; I've been to your country many times and everyone I've met has been unfailingly lovely and the maple syrup really is that good. It did feel good to get some of those frustrations off my chest, but now everything is back to normal, where I just insult bad television. At least for the time being. Here's Wednesday night's TV:
8:00pm: "Big Brother" on CBS
"Minute to Win It" on NBC
"PBS Special: Tavis Smiley Reports: New Orleans: Been in the Storm Too Long" on PBS. Some of the PBS shows I want to start typing in the style of "Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters" just to highlight how unnecessary and ridiculous these title constructions are.

“Super-8 Movie Madness 3” will be held on Tuesday December 1 from 8pm to Midnight at the Way Out Club. The cover charge is a bargain at a measly $2.00. There will be movie passes, T-Shirts and poster giveaways this time. If you’re not familiar with the madness, here’s a brief rundown: Remember (before video tapes) the Super-8 films they used to sell in the 1950’s and 60’s that were condensed versions of features? In the 1970’s they sold Sound versions of these films and 16 of these will be projected on a large screen at the Way Out Club (they average about 15 minutes each).
Condensed versions of the following films will be screened December 1: Duel, The House Of Frankenstein, the Marx Brothers in Duck Soup, The Dirty Dozen, Peter Cushing in Twins Of Evil, Sssssss (don’t say it…hiss it!), The Invisible Man, The Three Stooges in Disorder In The Court,...
