In the film Till the Clouds Roll By (1946), a biography of composer Jerome Kern, Judy Garland played Marilyn Miller and performed two songs from this show, "Sunny" and "Who?"

" Sunny " was the tenth most popular movie at the U.S. box office for 1930.

In September 1928, Warner Bros. Pictures purchased a majority interest in First National Pictures and from that point on, all "First National" productions were actually made under Warner Bros. control, even though the two companies continued to retain separate identities until the mid-1930's, after which time "A Warner Bros.-First National Picture" was often used.

Adapted from a stage musical that opened at the New Amsterdam Theatre in New York on September 22, 1925 and ran for 517 performances. Marilyn Miller recreated her Broadway role for this film.

Mr. Wendell-Wendell (Mackenzie Ward) drives a 1929 Renault 40CV Phaeton (the car from which Sunny jumps).
