Is November In Pittsburgh Really Better Than April In Paris?

Bonnie Baker -- playing a character called Bonnie Baker -- wants to be a band singer for Albert Dekker. Agent Edward Everett Horton fast-talks Dekker into it. But if wants his band playing on the radio for a reducing pill, he has to lose a lot of weight. So he goes to Dr. Jerry Colonna's weight-loss clinic/nightclub out west. Meanwhile, Miss Baker and bandleader Orrin Tucker -- playing a character called Orrin Tucker -- fall in love. She wants to sing for him, but alas, she has a contract.

It's one of those kitchen-sink comedies that has a bunch of comics doing shtick amid marginally saner people, and lots of music, including three song by Jimmy McHugh and Johnny Mercer. The comics include Teddy Hart, Tom Dugan, Walter Catlett, Vernon Dent, Charles Lane, and Bert Roach. It looks like Paramount decided to throw every small player under contract into this one in an effort to amortize their contract., making fun of radio, sponsors, singers, and health nuts. The result is silly and engaging.

    My father's band picture

I am amazed that this title is in your database! I voted it a six because it is pretty much your basic band picture in the 40's showcasing the current Big Band, and Orrin Tucker was very popular in 1941. My father was part of the Bodyguards who sang behind Bonnie Baker(who had a huge hit with "Oh Johnnie").

If there is a way for me to get a copy of this picture somewhere I would love to know how to do it.
