Daisy, the dog that stars as "Emperor" in this movie, is the same dog that appears in several of the "Blondie" movies of the 1940s under the character name of Daisy.
During the shooting of Emperor's first film, the slate reads, "Director BORRIS Camera CARLOFF"--as in Boris Karloff.
The earliest documented telecast of this film took place in Washington DC Friday 19 September 1947 on WTTG (Channel 5). On the West Coast, it was first aired in Los Angeles Saturday 8 April 1950 on KNBH (Channel 4), and in San Francisco Saturday 17 March 1951 on KRON (Channel 4).
The failure of the original copyright holder to renew the film's copyright resulted in it falling into public domain, meaning that virtually anyone could duplicate and sell a VHS/DVD copy of the film. Therefore, many of the versions of this film available on the market are either severely (and usually badly) edited and/or of extremely poor quality, having been duped from second- or third-generation (or more) copies of the film.
