Lew Hearn made occasional appearances on "The Jack Benny Program" radio show starting around 1935 as the character "Schlepperman". His trademark was saying, "Hello, stranger," using his distinctive accent just as he does in this movie.
Based on #118 of The Shadow magazine (January 1, 1937), titled "Foxhound" and written by Theodore A. Tinsley (under the usual pseudonym of "Maxwell Grant").
The set for the burglarized mansion is the same one that served in Reefer Madness (1936) as Mae's apartment. It also appears in the opening scenes of Delinquent Parents (1938) at the home of Mayor Wharton.
The earliest documented telecasts of this film took place in Washington DC Sunday 25 April 1948 on WMAL (Channel 7), in New York City Tuesday 27 September 1949 on WPIX (Channel 11), and in Los Angeles Thursday 17 November 1949 on KTLA (Channel 5).
