"In Old Montana" is a reasonable B-Western, but it's rather routine. Fred Scott stars in a singing cowboy role patterned after Gene Autry and others, with Harry Harvey as his loyal comic sidekick. Here, Scott plays a cavalry officer who is trying to settle a range war between cattlemen and sheepmen. The setup is somewhat interesting, but as it continues it gets more routine, although there is usually some action. It's about as good as some of the more average efforts of Autry or similar stars.
