Peter Roland wanted for kidnapping and murder of Binnie Cassila, a Hollywood child star 10 years ago, rescued pilots and passengers of a flight when the pilots suddenly got ill. Star advocate Caesar J. Vandergrift who was also on the plane recognized Roland and convinced due to Rolands behavior that he is not guilty, promised him to take over his advocacy. During the trial in New York Sylvia Casilla step mother of Binnie accuses Roland again to be the kidnapper and murderer of Binnie because he knew Binnie and her environment very well and he was seen very often observing the house of the Savillas even on the day when Binnie was seen for the last time. Though there was found her blood-soaked blouse her body was never found. Is she dead or nevertheless still alive. Vandergrift investigates on this and on who has had an advantage of Binnies dead. The result is surprising.
