Sheriff Steele riding the Pinto Tex

Tex the Horse does his part in the opening scene carrying Sheriff Bob Hall (Bob Steele) toward the rustlers. Tex is unscathed but Steele gets clotheslined and kayoed. Rancher Barnes (Mudock MacQuarrie) unwittingly sides with the rustlers led by Jim Farley (Ted Adams). Barnes also helps him bring in notorious killer Pete Childers (George Chesebro) as the sheriff's deputy. However, Steele also has great sidekick and comic Jimmy Aubrey as a deputy to level the playing field. Another subplot is with Hall's sweetheart Helen Jones' (Louise Stanley) bother Fred (Kenne Duncan) who he knows is tied into the cattle rustlers. Hardy Kellar (Steve Clark) makes the first misstep in gunning for Hall's deputy. Like a good lawman, you just know Steele is going to be hot on his trail. Steele isn't playing when Fred is harboring the killer, "I'll give you two minutes to find him." Look for some great fight scenes between Steele and fixture in westerns and poplar series Chesebro. Tex the Horse is uncredited but like Steele that pinto is relentless in bringing justice to Pinto Canyon.
