It's hard to understand why Popeye overcame Bluto's disabling of their boat. Bluto ripped of the rudder hit him over the head with it and then threw it away. There was nothing wrong with the propulsion unit of their boat. What they need was a way to steer the boat. There' probably no way to show that in a funny way.
