- Blackbeard: Ben, I believe I'm going to catch me a rat!
- Ben Worley: Why, you hungry?
- [motions to the rope Blackbeard is holding, which goes over the side of the ship]
- Ben Worley: . Oh, you're goin' fishing for him, aye?
- Blackbeard: NO, I ain't goin' fishin' for him, aye!
- [blasting Henry Morgan's ship with cannon fire]
- Blackbeard: Arrr, he's like a duck without wings! We'll close for the kill and then board her. And I'll dangle Uncle Harry from the fore yard!! Heh, he he he!
- Morgan's Aide: Sir Henry! I've just come from the jail, and all the prisoners have been liberated!
- Sir Henry Morgan: What?! When did this happen?
- Morgan's Aide: The jailer said, Blackbeard did it.
- Sir Henry Morgan: Blackbeard? Blackbeard's dead.
- Morgan's Aide: He ran a cutlass through the jailer, and he swears it was Blackbeard, with the eyes of a devil!
- Sir Henry Morgan: [pounds the desk and jumps up] When did this happen?
- Morgan's Aide: About three hours ago. The jailer's died.
- Sir Henry Morgan: Blackbeard...
- [almost to himself]
- Sir Henry Morgan: Suppose Blackbeard, why should he want to enter the jail?
- [snaps his fingers]
- Sir Henry Morgan: To get a crew! What would he do with a crew when he got it?
- [turns to his aide]
- Sir Henry Morgan: Was his ship in the harbor when you came in?
- Morgan's Aide: She was just sailing out!
- Sir Henry Morgan: So that's it! The black-hearted butcher. He thinks he can hoodwink old Henry Morgan, well that's a game at which two can play. He might run from me... but he wouldn't run from the sight of a rich, Spanish galleon! So I think we'll have some devilment tonight in the Nicholas Channel. We'll take that galleon!... and use it as a bait for Blackbeard. When he closes on her, he'll find himself outgunned, outfought, outwitted, and dead as mutton! Come on, let's be at it!
- Blackbeard: [gesturing with his cutlass at Edwina's neck] Morgan! You take this ship, and you take her head with it!
- Sir Henry Morgan: Call off your men, and cast adrift.
- Morgan's First Mate: But we're winning, sir! We have them at our mercy, and the ship is ours.
- Sir Henry Morgan: You heard my orders! Cast off, I say!
- Morgan's First Mate: Aye aye, sir!
- [to the crew]
- Morgan's First Mate: Cut loose those grapnels! Cast off, solid!
- Blackbeard: Heh, heh, I knew it...
- [Blackbeard's crew cheers and waves their swords at Morgan and his crew]
- Blackbeard: We'll call this one a draw, Morgan!
- Edwina Mansfield: [to Maynard] You? hang Morgan? You couldn't hang the hind leg of a pig in a smoke-house!
- Ben Worley: [after another pirate pleas for sailor's last rites of the sea] "Get your hats off. Lay hold, four of ya. For distance this time.
- [Four pirates pick up the body by the arms and legs and move to the ships side railing and start to swing the body]
- Ben Worley: One, and the body, the body , I say. Two, shall be cast, be cast, I say. Three, into the sea, the sea, into the sea goes he!
- [the pirates throw the body overboard and then look over the rail to see the body floating by]
- Ben Worley: Now away with ya! And divvy up his belongings.
- Blackbeard: [as the Maynard digs a bullet out of Blackbeard's neck and Gilly stands behind Maynard to make sure Maynard doesn't kill Blackbeard] Sawbones, you keep digging. Gilly, You keep watchin', and I'll keep drinking.
