You simply have to LOVE old Swedish black-and-white movies if you want anything out of "Flottare med färg." I don't know if I want to call it a drama or a comedy, it contains love, thoughts, songs and farcical events. A great plus for the song after about forty-five minutes, sang by Artur Rolén (who is mostly known for his role as "Klabbarpar'n" in the Åsa-Nisse-movies), the famous Swedish singer Gösta "Snoddas" Nordgren and two other, unknown, guys. The plot is simple: Kristina is in love with Ivar, who is a player and doesn't want to work, despite from his two younger brothers which both are most hard-working and responsible young men. It's fun to see John Botvid in a minor role, as some kind of stationmaster.
