Water, Water Every Hare (1952)

FAQ

Water, Water Every Hare

    Looney Tunes.

The IMDb trivia page says Boris Karloff.

Today's viewers are more likely to associate him with Vincent Price: he sounds more like Price than he does Karloff. But Vincent Price had not yet made his name as a horror film star, and it's unlikely anyone was thinking of him when they made the film.

    A spider goulash.

The Evil Scientist accidentally breaks open a bottle of ether whose fumes cause him and Bugs Bunny to talk and act in slow motion. "Coooome heeeeere, yooooou raaaaaabbit!"

The ether gag is standard for silent movies. A technique called "undercranking" achieved the effect of slow motion. Water, Water jazzes this gag up with sound effects and cartoon animation.

Yes. Water, Water Every Hare (1952) is a remake of Hair-Raising Hare (1946) (1946), which also featured a mad scientist, a castle, a furry orange sneakers-wearing beast and a scene where Bugs becomes a chatty beautician. Chuck Jones directed both.

Yes, it's included in the Looney Tunes Golden Collection, Volume One (2003) (V) Disc 1.
