Myles mentions fighting in France to Lady Anne. The era of the films story takes place during the last quarter of the Hundred Years War between England and France.
Filmed in both CinemaScope and Standard versions, for the benefit of sites not yet equipped for CinemaScope.
Early in the movie, Prince Hal Dan O'Herlihy searches a book of heraldry, looking for the achievement on a ring owned by Myles (Tony Curtis). On the page prior to Myles' achievement is a white shield bearing 3 red stars over 2 red bars - the arms granted to George Washington's 3rd great-grandfather, Lawrence Washington of Sulgrave Manor, Northamptonshire, England, now known to Americans as Washington DC's flag. This is also an historical error - the arms were not granted until 1592, almost 200 years after Henry IV's death.
