Harry Landis, known for his appearances in Friday Night Dinner and EastEnders, has died at the age of 90.

The star, who played Mr Morris – the bad-tempered boyfriend of Frances Cuka’s Grandma Nellie – in the Channel 4 comedy Friday Night Dinner from 2012 to 2014, died on Monday (12 September), his agent confirmed.

A statement on social media read: “Sad news. Our lovely client Harry Landis has passed to spirit.

“Harry had an amazing career and gained a new following in later life as Mr Morris in Friday Night Dinner. It was a privilege to have worked with him as a client. Harry you will be sadly missed. Rip.”

Landis’s Friday Night Dinner co-star Tracy-Ann Oberman, who played Auntie Val in the show, reacted to the news on Twitter, writing: “Bloody loved #HarryLandis. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.”

Jack Hedley, who featured in films including James Bond’s For Your Eyes Only and Lawrence of Arabia, along with a string of UK TV hits, has died aged 92.

A note in today’s Times said Hedley, who was born Jack Hawkins, had died on December 11 after a “short illness bravely borne.” At Hedley’s request, there will be no funeral.

Hedley was born in London in 1929 and started appearing in films in the 1950s. He starred in the BBC series The World of Tim Frazer in the early 1960s and went on to feature in a number of films that decade, including Lawrence of Arabia, The Scarlet Blade, Witchcraft and The Secret of Blood Island (pictured).

He was to further make a name for himself many years later when he was cast as Sir Timothy Havelock in James Bond’s For Your Eyes Only, for which he also voiced Havelock’s Parrot.

Serbian actress Nadja Regin, who appeared in two early James Bond movies, has died at the age of 87.

The news was announced on the official 007 Twitter account, which said: “We are very sorry to learn that Nadja Regin has passed away at the age of 87. Nadja appeared in two Bond films, ‘From Russia with Love’ and ‘Goldfinger.’ Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this sad time.”

A hit with colleagues and audiences alike, she progressed from The Secret Garden and Dixon Of Dock Green to lend her talents to films including Frenzy, The Omen, An Unsuitable Job for a Woman, The Krays, Quills and Hot Fuzz.
