Unlike to most films produced in Italy in 1944-45 during the Republic of Salò (when Mussolini was deposed and the country occupied by the Germans), this movie was more or less normally distributed. It was released in most Italian cities in April 1945.
The film was produced by Cines, a very important production company at the time. Some sources claim that it was co-produced by another company: Sidera Film, Ente Nazionale Industrie Cinematografiche (ENIC) and Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (CSC) are the names often linked to this film. However, the Public Film Register (Pubblico Registro Cinematographico) where all films must be declared to obtain the film certificate, only recorded the name of Cines.
