“As The World Turns” alum Billy Magnussen (ex-Casey Hughes), will topline the currently untitled Jonathan Glatzer Silicon Valley series for AMC and AMC+. Sarah Goldberg (“Barry”) was the first to be cast in the project.
According to Deadline, which first reported the news, the AMC Studios produced drama series is set inside the bubble of Silicon Valley, amid misguided corporate cultures, moony innovation labs and cutthroat private high schools. It is centered around a rift between a self-appointed “inventor of the future” tech CEO (Magnussen) and his self-serving “performance psychologist” (Goldberg), who is engulfed in a scandal sparked by the exploitation of personal data.
Along with Glatzer, the series will be executive produced by Gina Mingacci (“Killing Eve”) and is one of many high-profile Silicon Valley-set dramas put in development, but the first to receive a series order. A writer on such shows as “Succession” and “Better Call Saul,” among others,...

According to a report recently filed by the medical examiner, Charleson passed away on January 12, 2025, aged 79, after suffering from sequelae of blunt head trauma, or what is also known as traumatic brain injury (Tbi) with the manner of death being classified as an accident.
Other significant medical conditions listed included Charleson’s history of asthma, arthritis, atrial fibrillation, as well as normal pressure hydrocephalus (fluid buildup in the brain), the latter of which can cause brain injury, with such symptoms as memory loss, difficulty with walking, and bladder issues, among other matters.

Just a few hours — I repeat, hours — after writing that Hollywood never releases a classic romantic movie on Valentine’s Day, I see a film that proves me wrong. It just happens to also be an ultraviolent slasher. Touché, Hollywood. You win this round.
Then again with a film as good as Josh Ruben’s “Heart Eyes,” everyone’s a winner. Ruben is the director of the brilliant 2021 horror comedy Werewolves Within, hands down the best movie ever adapted from a video game. It comes as no surprise that his follow-up would do the same thing for another underwhelming subgenre. “Heart Eyes” raises the bar for emoji movies, which sounds like faint praise since “The Emoji Movie” forgot to install a bar, but it’s still true.

When it comes to the film industry, there is no shortage of ‘nepo baby,’ short for nepotism kids who have found a place in the industry thanks to their famous parents, relatives, or friends. There is a wildcard at every wedding, but in the case of “You’re Cordially Invited,” there are two. And they are played by Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon.
Now streaming on Prime, the film directed by Nicholas Stoller centers on two families who unknowingly double book their weddings at the same small inn — an inn that can really only accommodate one wedding. For Jim (Ferrell), it is his daughter’s, and for Margot (Witherspoon), it is her sister’s. Naturally, the two immediately go insane, trying to force the other to back down.
Somehow, Ferrell and Witherspoon have never led a comedy together, but they are doing it now with a very familiar cast.
Here are the major players you need to know.

Daytime superstar Colleen Zenk may play the worst of the worst on the worst on The Young and the Restless, but in real life, the star is nothing like Jordan. This shines through in a recent exchange she had with a fan on X (formerly Twitter) while discussing one of the directors who she admires the most.
The Gold Standard of Direction
In the world of soap operas, few names shine as brightly as Paul Lammers and Len Valenta. When a fan (@KingMinos777) praised their work, especially their episodes of The Young and the Restless and General Hospital, they acknowledged these directors’ legacy as the gold standard. But for Colleen Zenk, it’s not just about admiration. It’s personal.
Len Valenta guided me thru my first months of Atwt. He was kind, supportive,
so good to new kids like me. Paul Lammars and I worked together nonstop. We became offscreen friends.

Days of Our Lives always has fun, sometimes obscure pop-culture references interspersed in the characters’ dialogue. In December 2022, an eagle-eyed fan on X, formerly Twitter, noticed a mention of the president of Salem’s city council as being Cass Winthrop. This was a nod to the Another World character of the same name. Stephen Schnetzer played Cass from 1982 until 1999 and recently reprised his Days role as Steven Olson. Now comes another reference to an old soap. And the fans were on top of it.
Lady Whistleblower’s Bank Gave It Away
On the January 7 episode of Days, Stephanie (Abigail Klein) implored Chad (Billy Flynn) to tell her the identity of the new Lady Whistleblower, whose articles are endangering the soap-within-a-soap called Body & Soul. Chad went on about privacy issues and admitted that the person submitted articles anonymously. However, Steph convincingly argued that the articles were hit pieces, not just opinions.

‘Beyond the Gates’ (Btg) Spoilers is a groundbreaking new soap that will premiere on CBS on February 24, 2025. It’s the first African American soap since “Generations,” which aired from March 1989 to January 1991.
‘Beyond The Gates’ Spoilers: We Weren’t Ready For The Marshall Family On Generations, But We’re Ready For The Duprees Now
When Generations aired, the US wasn’t ready for an African American soap. It suffered poor ratings and a lack of support from the NBC network.
Not to mention, it went up against the second half of “The Young and the Restless.” Now, CBS is airing Beyond the Gates in a plum time slot: at 2:00 p.m. when “As the World Turns” once aired.” Wise choice, CBS.
The show’s cast has been announced, and the core families have been established. We’ll start with the Duprees. Tamara Tunie plays Anita Dupree. Tunie played Jessica Griffin...

In the years since he was first cast as Starfleet officer William T. Riker on "Star Trek: The Next Generation," Jonathan Frakes has become an integral part of the "Star Trek" franchise not only as an actor but also as a director, shaping things behind-the-scenes. Back when the role was being cast in the late 1980s, however, Frakes wasn't the first pick for the roguishly handsome first officer. In fact, he was actually up against some other very talented performers.
In the end, though, it all worked out and Frakes ended up playing the guy who simply cannot sit in a chair the way it was designed (as "Star Trek: Lower Decks" once poked fun at). Still, things could have been very different on "The Next Generation" if one of the other actors in the running had secured the part. In fact, the person who almost took the role and...

After a 15-year run and nearly 3,000 episodes, The Talk is coming to an end on Friday, December 20. The CBS talk show, which served as a great vehicle to promote the network’s lineup and often shined a spotlight on soaps and daytime alumni, began in 2010 following the cancellation of beloved series As the World Turns. The Daytime Emmy-winning program had a very different panel than the one today that’s comprised of Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell, and Sheryl Underwood. When the show began, the show’s panel consisted of Julie Chen, Holly Robinson Peete, Sharon Osbourne, Sara Gilbert (who co-created the program and served as executive producer), and Leah Remini. Melissa Jaret Winokur was a special correspondent. Robinson Peete, Remini, and Winokur were all gone by Season 2. That’s when Underwood and Aisha Tyler were added to the panel. ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers divulge that Colleen Zenk, who plays Jordan Howard on Y&r, might be due for a good redemption arc after her niece, Claire Newman (Hayley Erin), was welcomed into the Newman family after trying to poison half of them on Jordan’s behalf.
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Jordan Has Committed Heinous Crimes
Jordan’s numerous crimes include hooking alcoholic Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) up to an IV of vodka, stabbing Nikki’s son, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), traumatizing Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell), and possibly killing Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom).
Jordan is a real villain and a bad a**, but in Soap Land, anyone can be redeemed. Just look at Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc). He was first introduced as Christine Blair‘s (Lauralee Bell) rapist and stalker, but now he’s a well-respected lawyer and citizen of Genoa City.

The Young and the Restless (Y&r) spoilers reveal that Colleen Zenk is talking about the possibility that her character, Jordan, can be redeemed.
Her crimes include kidnapping and terrorizing a little boy, hooking a helpless woman up to a vodka IV, then stabbing the woman’s son.
Jordan is high up in the villain universe, but she has also paid a price for her evildoing: being locked up in Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) dungeon and fed only Brussels sprouts. Ew.
Here’s what the As the World Turns alum has to say about her current character’s shot at redemption.
