The narrator said that the end of the movie that Marseille died at the age of 23. However he died on the 30th September 1942 at the age of 22, about 2,5 months before his 23th birthday.
Unlike said in the movie Jochen Marseille received the "Silver medal for military bravery" by Benito Mussolini, which was the highest military award in Italy, not the "Golden medal".
The news vendor in front of the Marseilles' apartment building is shown in August 1939 selling issues of "Das Reich" magazine. The first issue of this magazine wasn't published until May 1940.
