During the scene in the cottage, the live chicken that the woman has been holding suddenly disappears.
There are two jump cuts early on in the film. The first is when Tati's postman narrowly misses being hit by the falling pole as he cycles into the cafe, and the second occurs shortly afterwards when he enters the cottage of the woman with the chicken.
