- Stephanie: I might even like that.
- Sequin: I'd like to know how we stand.

- Sequin: [angrily] Do you want to be a river rat *all* your life?

- Beauvais: [referring to Dan Corrigan] Go ahead, make a gentleman out of him. He's just stupid enough to be good material... but after he gets to be a gentleman, he'll want a lady
- [shakes his head]
- Beauvais: ... not you.
- Sequin: I'd be a little careful of how I talked if I were you.
- Beauvais: One thing's certain, Sequin. All your money, and all your timberland, will never make a lady out of you.
- Sequin: Why, you -
- [throws deck of cards at him]
- Beauvais: See what I mean?
