"Colorado Territory" is a remake of the same director's 1941 film High Sierra (1940) with a Western setting.

Henry Hull appeared in both the original gangster film, High Sierra (1940), and this movie. Here he's the good girl's father, and in "High Sierra" he's the doctor who fixes the good girl's club foot.
To make her look part Native American, Virginia Mayo had brownish makeup on her face, which contrasted with her arms, neck and chest area, which was her natural, lighter color.
The same year, John Archer would play the head cop in White Heat (1949), also directed by Raoul Walsh and famously co-starring Virginia Mayo. They share only one scene in "White Heat" and are a couple (at least at first) here.
