Sympathetic and typical Spanish comedy of the Sixties with agreeable characters and silly situations

Juan: Javier Armet marries an expert lawyer named Maria José: Mara Cruz . As Maria José doesn't give up her profession as an advocate at law to become a housewife , then her husband leaves his job , and takes the role as a house-husband . Later on , the obstinate spouse , due to his husband coercively impeding to work , schemes a fake adultery by chasing "In Fraganti" his hubby with a presumed lover , a call-girl : Lina Canalejas .

Attractive and enjoyable comedy made in a corny style , that's why it was shot during the Francoist period when women after the wedding to have the old tradition : to be a housewife . Main and support cast are frankly good . Mara Cruz is pretty well as the wife who breaks the ordinarily traditional roles as the typical housewife to become a prestigious solicitor . While Javier Armet is nice as the stiff husband who pretends to leave his job in a building company to be at home . They are very well accompanied by a top-notch support cast with full of familiar faces , such as : Jose Luis López Vázquez as Maria Jose's helper , Amelia de la Torre as her mother , Jose Bodalo as a separated client , Lady Soldevilla as the servant , and her boyfriend played by Emilio Laguna . Special mention for Antonio Garisa as a prisoner accused for two killings , though he reclaims to have committed four , to be judged in Supreme Court and defended by Mara Cruz . And other secondaries in minor roles as Margot Cottens , Jose Orjas , Antonio Ferrandis , Felix Fernandez , Goyo Lebrero, Rafael Hernández , Manuel Arbo, Francisco Camoiras and Paco Moran as a prosecutor .

The motion picture was professionally directed by Jose Luis Saez de Heredia, though being excessively stagy , in fact the movie was based on a play by prolific playwright Alfonso Paso. Saez de Heredia was a craftman who directed a lot of films during the Francoist period , being one of the los main representives . At 23 years old he directed his first film : Patricia miro a una estrella 1934 . Luis Buñuel himself as a producer assigns him the supervision of two films : La Hija de Juan Simon and ? Quien Me Quiere a Mi? . Then, General Francisco Franco writing a novel that under his script directed Jose Luis de Heredia titled : Raza . He becomes the official director of the la dictatorship , writing propaganda films as Escuadrilla 1941 by Antonio Roman and El Camino de Babel 1944 by Jeronimo Mihura . Shortly After , he made the successful El Escándalo 1943 based on Pedro Antonio Alarcon novel, Mariona Rebull 1947 based on Ignacio Agustí , Las Aguas bajan Negras 1948 about Armando Palacio Valdes and La Mies Es mucha 1949 based on a script by Vicente Escriva. After that , he made comedies as El Destino Se Disculpa 1944 , Bambu 1945 , Yolanda 1941 , Si Fausto fue Faustina 1943 . Having success enough he creates his own production company : Chopaloo Films with whom he directs Don Juan 195o , Los Ojos Dejan Huellas 1953 , Todo es Posible En Granada, Diez Fusiles Esperan and the considered to be his best one : Historias de la Radio and many others .
