After her husband died of a heart attack at 31 in 1958, Doris Wishman looked for an all-consuming job that would keep her occupied. When she decided to direct and produce, she took a crash course in filmmaking and soon discovered the lucrative topic of pseudo-documentaries about nudist camps, the only films allowed by courts in the 1960s to depict nudity.
Included in a 1990 VHS collection hosted by Joe Bob Briggs (John Bloom) titled "The Sleaziest Movies in the History of the World."
When Dr. Huntley and the Professor are driving to the launch site, they pass the Variety Theater, which is showing Hideout in the Sun (1960). That film, which was Doris Wishman's first movie (this film was her second), launched her filmmaking career.
