On his Saint's day, Valentine returns to earth turned into an elegant matchmaker.

The success of ¨El día de los enamorados: Valentine's Day¨ in 1959, gives rise 3 years later to the same team to carry out a sequel, where on another February 14th San Valentin returns to Madrid to fix the absurd problems of four other couples. As there are still a lot of problems in the relationships of the Spanish couples when Saint Valentine returns to earth and especially to Madrid in order to fix these problems by walking on the Gran Via . The four episodes are: 1-: The agreeable marriage, formed by the excessively busy Mercedes (Amparo Soler Leal) and Fernando (José Luís López Vázquez), stays locked up one day in their house and they manage to get to know each other better. 2-: On the day of her wedding, Julia Ruíz (Tere del Rio) discovers that her presumed love is a womanizer. The famous photographer Mauricio (Cassen) portrays women to earn money. 3-: The maid Felisa (Gracita Morales) is somewhat marginalized by the marriage (José Maria Caffarel, Mari Carmen Prendes) she works with, but the situation changes when she wins three million in the pools, and suddenly her boyfriend Antonio (Manolo Gómez Bur) and parents (Rafael Aparicio, Adrián Ortega) arrive from the village to the capital. The dreamer Leonor (María Quadra) falls in love with an insurance salesman Manuel (Angel Del Pozo) , whose romance has been instigated by San Valentin himself.

Entertaining, light choral romantic comedy without too many pretensions. Stars a group of couples and their troubles , but in their young minds, one idea surpasses all: to be happy searching and finding true love. Too much similar than the previous installment, it retains excessive tenderness, but has lost much of its grace and sympathy due to the similarity with the previous situations, although it continues to be well shot by director Fernando Palacios on the streets of Madrid with a large group of good main and supporting actors. It has very local aspects of the old Spanish society , concerning the necessity to marry, a traditional way of living , religious moral, sexual repression , among others . It is an acceptable Spanish comedy that offers no intellectual stimulus whatsoever , though it has some fun and hilarious moments .This hilarious as well as passable romantic comedy is full of humor , absurd scenes , and narrating the traditional Spanish society in which ruled a dictatorship with modernity. It is a simple , and humorous portrait of a time when the Spanish people live in the late Fifties , including the consuming society and a very slight opening to freer and more permissive societies . There are several topics in this film , though many of them we can find in current societies with certain parallelism in a traditional way of life .

The picture is agile and friendly, highlighting the bond between José Luís López Vázquez and Amparo Soler Leal with some funny situations. It stars the ever brilliant and elegant Jorge Rigaud as Saint Valentin who is usually hit -but comes out unscathed- by a car driven by a taxi driver, José Orjas. Sadly, in real life, Rigaud was run over by a car, dying from the accident, in a sad old age sunk in loneliness and poverty. Situations of comedy and brief drama are alternated with a magnificent main and secondary cast, as the chief diversion is to guess which next character to appear here and there, such as: Cassen who steals the show playing in his usual style , Amparo Soler Leal , Manolo Gómez Bur , Teresa del Río , José Luis López Vázquez, Amelia de la Torre, Ángel del Pozo, María Quadra, Rafaela Aparicio, Jesús Guzmán, Hugo Pimentel, Alicia Hermida, Josefina Serratosa, Luis Morris, Francisco Bernal, Laly Soldevila, Mª Carmen Prendes, Adrián Ortega, Paula Martel, José Orjas, Irán Eory, María José Alfonso, José María Caffarel, Rafaela Aparicio, Erasmo Pascual, Anibal Vela, Encarna Paso and special mention for Gracita Morales.

It has a pleasant aesthetic full of light and color with stupendous photography in Technicolor and in filmscope by cameraman Alejandro Ulloa . As well as atmospheric and evocative musical score by Augusto Algueró. The motion picture was decently directed by Fernando Palacios who made various comedies and this was one of his greatest boxoffice hits and rightly so . Palacios directed a great number of films of all kinds of genres with especial penchant for comedies . Fernando was a good filmmaker who directed some acceptable comedies as El dia de enamorados, Juanito, Tres de la Cruz Roja, Vuelve San Valentin, Marisol rumbo a Rio, Operacion embajada, Buscame esa chica, La familia y uno mas and Whisky y Vodka. Rating : 6/10 . Good Spanish comedy that will appeal to Spanish film enthusiasts . Worthwhile watching .
