Originally filmed in England in the early 1940s as an infomercial reel about venereal diseases, Herschell Gordon Lewis bought the short film and edited together actual childbirth scenes from a 1938 feature film titled 'Birth of a Baby', edited out most of the references to VD, filmed additional scenes in a Chicago hospital involving a real pregnant woman and edited the childbirth scenes from the 1938 film with the re-shoot scenes.
