Despite Luciano Tovoli being accredited as camera operator, all the filming of the film was performed by the director Vittorio De Seta. Actually Tovoli's work was finding and testing the locations for the following days of shooting.
In the film crew there are two guys who in the following decades will establish themselves internationally as great artists. They are the director Gianni Amelio and the photographer Ferdinando Scianna.
