In order to present the next set of protagonists, the landlord (played by David) flicked the To Let sign (though this was part of the plot to show new tenants are staying in the house).
It was one of the rarest movies made whereby there were 3 sets of protagonists in three different parts of the movie.
It was Dilip Kumar who encouraged Mukherjee to become a director. Musafir released and bombed. Dilip Kumar told Mukherjee to start another film and he would do it. Mukherjee refused saying he did not want to take advantage of their friendship.
