Per his Autobiography, Adam West was accidentally left alone on the island where filming took place overnight.
This was the first of a three-picture deal between producer Howard W. Koch and Boris Karloff for which Karloff was to be paid $25,000 per film.
Voodoo Island was released theatrically by United Artists on a double bill with Pharaoh's Curse (1957). The film was later re-titled Silent Death for a very brief 1963 theatrical re-release, sharing the bill with The Black Sleep (1956) (which is also known as Dr. Cadman's Secret).
Although set in the South Pacific, the film was actually filmed on the island of Kauai, Hawaii.
