The big night is months away, but Jake Davidson is already prom king. "It was incredible. I was like, elation, I don't even know the [word]. It was surreal," the 17-year-old senior at Milken Community High School in Bel Air, Calif., exclusively told E! News when asked how it felt to actually hear Kate Upton respond to his YouTube invitation to be his date to the prom. "I was, like, Wow, this is actually happening?" recalled Davidson, who was being interviewed on Today when Upton called in to tell him she would "love to go" with him if her schedule allows. Noting how he appeared speechless when he heard Upton's voice, Davidson said that he actually had it all...

The big night is finally here for Jessica Chastain, as she hopes to score a win in the Best Actress category at the 2013 Academy Awards.

As for the men, Bradley Cooper, Daniel Day-Lewis, Denzel Washington, Joaquin Phoenix, and Hugh Jackman all compete for the Best Actor Oscar.

This weekend mirrors, for most like me, the Super Bowl weekend. The big night is on Sunday so all I have to do now is prepare, set up finger food, and mark my ballots for the Academy Awards Sunday night. I don’t expect many people rushing out to see the newest releases like Snitch and Dark Skies. I do see, however, many people either staying home or just going to see Oscar nominated movies. Don’t expect huge numbers.

1994′s Heavenly Creatures turned out to be the little flick that launched some big careers (along with helping turn New Zealand into a movie making mecca), This docudrama pushed director Peter Jackson out into the big studios and all the way to Middle Earth (with several Academy Awards along the way). Another Creatures alum to go home with gold in a few years was Kate Winslet (with a stop on that doomed boat trip that became the second biggest box office hit of all time). And what about poor, young murderess Pauline? I’m speaking of the talented actress that shared the screen with Ms. W. Well, Melanie Lynskey has racked up a lot of screen time ( big and small screen ) since then. Many may know her as Charlie Harper’s stalker-ex in the TV sitcom smash “Two and a Half Men”. She’s also had some great supporting roles...

The big night is finally here. The Ewings of Dallas are back on the air after 14 years away. Will this new series outlast the original or does it deserve to be quickly cancelled instead?
The new Dallas on TNT is a continuation of the primetime soap opera that began in 1978. John Ross (Josh Henderson) and Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe) are fighting over Southfork, just like their fathers (Larry Hagman and Patrick Duffy) did back in the CBS days. Others in the cast include Linda Gray, Brenda Strong, Jordana Brewster, and Julie Gonzalo.
Is the new Dallas worth your time? Here's what some of the critics are saying:
NY Daily News: "So we've got love and money both in play here, and soon they swirl together into a tale that's got more kick than Texas chili made with live rattlesnakes. It's...

French silent film takes home three major prizes, for Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Director.

Meryl Streep wins Best Actress at the 2012 Oscars
Photo: Getty Images
The early word on the 84th annual Academy Awards was that silent movie "The Artist" was going to run the board. Then there were five early wins by Martin Scorsese's "Hugo" in technical awards, and it seemed as if it would be a night of upsets.
But, like an old movie serial that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end, the throwback to another era in film came on strong and swept three of the four biggies: Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Director.
The wins capped a night of celebrating the history of cinema, with the final act providing a perfect topper, as "The Artist" became only the second silent movie in Oscar...

"The tragic destiny of the sculptor Camille Claudel will be the focus of Bruno Dumont's seventh feature, which will start shooting next February in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence," reports Fabien Lemercier at Cineuropa, where he notes that "the project has just been selected by Arte France Cinéma which will support it through co-production and pre-acquisitions. For the first time in his career, the director of Outside Satan (unveiled on the Croisette in May) and two-time winner of the Grand Prize at Cannes (in 1999 with Humanity and in 2006 for Flanders) has cast a star: Juliette Binoche (set to be seen next year in Malgorzata Szumowska's Elles, David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis, Sylvie Testud's The Life of Another and Marion Lainé's A Monkey on My Shoulder)."
Lemercier reminds us that when Isabelle Adjani played Claudel for Bruno Nuytten in 1988, she scored a Silver Bear in Berlin, a César and an Oscar nomination. And...

The A-List is setting back gay rights twenty or even thirty years.
This has been a typical meme surrounding the sleeping around, drunken fistfights and generally bad behavior of The A-List crew. And I've been politely telling people that line of thinking is just nonsense attributable to the fact that we've never seen a brazen, frequently amoral, Real Housewives-type show starring… well, us.
But the sad truth is that this show will soon push us back to a pre-Stonewall existence so bleak, it makes The Road look like a toe-tapping Broadway musical.
I know this because I have HomoRightsTracker 3000 (or HomoTracker for short) installed on my computer. It's advanced software that I totally did not just make up that tracks all of the rights the Glbt community has and all of the ones we don't.
And it was pinging me like crazy during this week's A-List: Dallas episode.

The big night's drama inspires a nostalgic 8-bit musical recap.

"Glee," if you were a video game, this was the week that we pressed "Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start" before we tuned in. It was awesome, and it inspired us to go old-school Nintendo for this week's musical recap. Sing along!
Prom-ah, you always bring the drama.
No dresses for big mammas.
You can't just wear pajamas,
Mercedes is complaining!
While other girls campaigning,
Their motives re-arranging,
Keeping track is so draining.
Here we go ...
Artie wants Brit back so he tries Stevie Wonder.
She acts like he smoked crack, says "no" about the prom.
Jesse and Rachel sing, but Adele is a blunder.
Am I a bad fan if I'm getting sick of that song?
Kurt wants to wear a kilt to school.
